Can I Take Ibuprofen?
There has been a concern expressed that the use of ibuprofen and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications may be associated with more severe illness. However, there is currently no clinical data to support this concern. The CDC and the WHO have made no official recommendations on the use of these medications. Based on this information there is nothing to support avoiding these medications.
If a person is concerned, they may choose to take acetaminophen instead for COVID-19 symptoms. People who are taking these medications for reasons other than COVID-19, should not stop taking them without talking to their doctor.
Researchers are studying a number of medications for the treatment of COVID-19. Currently none of these medications have been proven effective.
